The U-2 High Altitude Spy Plane
Graphics:
The New Thumbnails
This page displays the new thumbnails for all of my photos of the U-2 and ER-2.
As I add graphics to the site, I include them on the "big" thumbnail pages.
But I also add them to this page so that visitors can see the latest additions.
Thumbnails
I display a "thumbnail" of each photo. And, in each case I have shown the original graphic URL as well as the URL of any "information page" that referenced that graphic.
Each of the thumbnails also links to another page on my site containing the thumbnail as well as a "full size" version of the graphic. The page on my site also contains additional information about the graphic. And, for some of the graphics, it contains additional links (e.g., to
different sizes or revolutions of the graphics.)
The U-2:
My brother was a U-2 pilot in the U. S. Air Force. Then he left to become a commercial pilot for United Airlines. Now he has returned to the Air Force to again fly the U-2. This is a page about his plane.

All the U-2 Thumbnails:
A monster page that includes all of the U-2 graphics and also all of the ER-2 (U-2) graphics. This page combines the other two graphics pages into one large graphics page.

Aviation and Space:
Links to some aviation and space posters, memorabilia, gifts and collectibles available for sale.
NB: This page is part of my affiliate participation that helps fund this site. If you would rather order products without crediting my affiliate account, I include a link for that as well. The link opens a new window.

U-2: Trapeze Stealth Modifications
"Trapeze" is one of two modifications Kelly Johnson used to reduce the U-2's radar signature. Trapeze attached long bamboo poles to both wings parallel to the fuselage and then attached wires to these poles. In addition, some "beaded" wires were used. The objective was to use these wires to "trap" radar pulses. The second modification called "Wallpaper" covered the body and wings of the aircraft with anechoic materials to absorb radar energy.
