Graphics

On my site I display some of the photos of the U-2 and photos from the U-2 that that I have located across the web.

Most of these photos are part of the U. S. Government archives. Government photographs are not copyrighted and are available for use.

(Think about it . . . the government just represents the people so having the government copyright something on behalf of the nation wouldn't make much sense.)

Other photographs may be from private collections or published works.

Thumbnails

I display a "thumbnail" of each photo. And, in each case I have shown the original graphic URL as well as the URL of any "information page" that referenced that graphic.

each of the thumbnails also links to another page on my site containing the thumbnail as well as a "full size" version of the graphic. The page on my site also contains additional information about the graphic. And, for some of the graphics, it contains additional links (e.g., to different sizes or revolutions of the graphics.)

The Graphics Pages

I have divided the thumbnails into two pages:

(The eR-2 is NASA's version of the U-2).

In addition, I have all of the thumbnails on one huge page. It takes a bit more time to open, so if you choose that page, please be patient.

Finally, I have a new graphics page. As I add graphics to the site, I include them on the "big" thumbnail pages. But I also add them to the "new graphics page" so that visitors can see the latest additions.

The new pages will be slightly wider and the new main menu is wider as well. The bottom of the page menu (see the box immediately above) is being eliminated. Failing links are being identified/removed and the HTML is being corrected/revised to better use CSS Structures and to use fewer old HTML structures. During the transition, some old pages show formatting errors in the HTML, and the page may be "not quite right".

I appreciate your patience while this effort proceeds. Completion was originally estimated for Dec.2011. However the lengthy illness and "recent" death of my mother (20.Jul.2011) coupled with the effects of my strokes and my personal focus on finding employment, has caused me to reestimate completion for Dec.2012, gods willing and the creeks don't rise.
