Email from American Committee for Interoperable Systems (ACIS) Clarifying Second Letter
[NB: The WFKA The 2BGuide parenthetically described the ACIS 2nd letter as "(support for model law)". This email was written in response to that. Return-Path: (Peter.Choy@Corp.Sun.COM) Date: Thu, 15 Jul 1999 16:39:20 -0700 (PDT) From: Peter Choy (Peter.Choy@Corp.Sun.COM) Reply-To: Peter Choy (Peter.Choy@Corp.Sun.COM) Subject: Post 2B Comment To: ckunze@ix.netcom.com Content-MD5: fmdg/3LK+fbphTal9yysQQ== Carol, You characterize the most recent ACIS letter commenting on UCITA as expressing "support for model law". We find that characterization to run the risk of misleading the casual reader as to the true thrust of our letter. In order to be consistent with the way in which you characterize similar such letters of concern, kindly amend your characterization to say something like "objection to draft as uniform law and recommendation to recast as model law", or, if you prefer, simply "various concerns"). We don't want anyone to misread your characterization to conclude that ACIS supports UCITA as such, because clearly we do not. And we are confident you don't want your words to be misconstrued any more than we do. We would appreciate your promptly making the changes we have requested and ask that you kindly post this letter on the WFKA The 2BGuide as an addendum to our June 21 letter. Kind regards, >Peter M.C. Choy, American Committee for Interoperable Systems, ____________________________________________
