__________1. THE INTERNET TURNS 35 1969 was a great year. Woodstock. The first lunar landing. The Mets won the World Series. And Stephen Crocker, Vinton Cerf and Len Kleinrock invented the internet. I remember the first three. I was even in the Joint Industry Press Center when we actually landed on the moon. But the internet took a while longer to show up. On 02.Sep.1969, Stephen Crocker and Vinton Cerf were graduate students at UCLA. Together with professor Len Kleinrock created a two computer network. Later they added more nodes. Eventually, over many years their work evolved into the internet as we know it today. So this Thursday, 02.Sep.2004, celebrate what happened 35 years ago.

__________2. WHO MADE THIS TOY You've probably already seen it on the news by now, but just in case ... Seems that a toy which appears to depict the attack on the World Trade Center got imported and distributed. The toys were placed in about 14,000 bags of candy which needed to be recalled. Oh, and the part number stamped on the toy ... 9011.
