__________1. QUOTATIONS
I have just added these quotations to my website. You can see these and more
by going to the Quotations section at
http://www.JamesSHuggins.com/quotations
If today I had a young mind to direct, to start on the journey of life, and
I was faced with the duty of choosing between the natural way of my
forefathers and that of the... present way of civilization, I would, for its
welfare, unhesitatingly set that child's feet in the path of my forefathers.
I would raise him to be an Indian!
Luther Standing Bear (Ota Kte, Mochunozhin)
(1868-1939) Oglala Sioux chief
Have faith and the way will open.
Quaker saying
I have made it a rule of my life never to regret and never to look back.
Regret is an appalling waste of energy . . . you can't build on it; it's
only good for wallowing in.
Katherine Mansfield (1888 1923), author
Complex problems have simple, easy to understand, wrong answers.
Grossman's Misquote of H. L. Mencken.
When two people love each other,
they don't look at each other,
they look in the same direction.
Ginger Rogers (1911 1995), actress and dancer
The greatest achievements were at first and for a time dreams.
The oak sleeps in the acorn.
James Allen (1864 1912), writer
I think and think for months and years.
Ninety-nine times, the conclusion is false.
The hundredth time I am right.
Albert Einstein (1879 1955), physicist
__________2. EPHEMERAE
Every day interesting stuff crosses my desk. Some isnt important enough
to put on my site in any permanent way. But it is interesting enough to put
there somehow, quickly, at least for a while.
These are ephemerae: collections of temporary, transitory tidbits.
I have the same information and links to prior items at
http://www.JamesSHuggins.com/ephemerae
Scientific American (09.Jul.2001), "Walking the Dinosaur":
MIT's Artificial Intelligence laboratory have created Troodya 10-pound,
two-legged robotic replica of a Troodon dinosaur from the Cretaceous period.
And Troody walks. The site includes a link to a QuickTime movie of Troody
walking.

Shift Magazine (V9.2), "The Payphone Project":
A short article about Mark Thomas and his database of payphone numbers:
payphoneproject.com. Want to call the Vatican? The Eifel Tower? Bermuda?
He's got the numbers. (And his obsession lets me feel much better about
mine.)

Youth Studies Australia (Jun.2001), "Email the Ups and Downs of a Useful
Tool":
An interesting introduction to email usage, made more interesting because it
quotes me.
